The Ohio Coffee Trail was created to highlight the incredible local coffee shops across our region… small businesses built on passion, hard work, and a love for community.
Recently, many of our participating shops have shared a challenge they’re facing… some trail customers are ordering the smallest, least expensive drink (like a $2.00 black coffee) just to receive a trail stamp and swag… items that cost shops far more than the purchase itself. While we love the excitement the trail has brought, this pattern makes it difficult for small businesses to continue offering the trail experience.
To help balance the fun of the trail with the reality of running a small business, all participating coffee shops now have the option to implement a drink purchase minimum. Each shop will decide what works best for them… so the minimum may vary from one café to another.
We ask that all trail explorers keep this in mind and, most importantly, remember the heart of the Ohio Coffee Trail… supporting small, local businesses. When you visit, consider treating yourself to one of their specialty drinks, a fresh pastry, or even a bag of beans to take home. Your purchase is more than just a stamp… it’s an investment in someone’s dream.
Without your true support, these shops cannot thrive, and without them, the Ohio Coffee Trail wouldn’t exist.
Sip local. Support local. Love local.
